To be clear Professional Passport does not approve any provider operating this style of arrangement.
We are also aware that many of these companies have infiltrated recruitment companies offering significantly high incentives directly to the consultants to promote the arrangements to their contractors.
These consultants are offering false assurances to workers about the legitimacy of such arrangements purely for personal gain.
Emails we have seen are often being sent on official recruitment company domains. This opens significant risks for the recruitment company and the recruitment company could find itself liable for any unpaid taxes in the supply chain.
We advise all recruitment companies to put systems in place that highlight any unusual provider selection patterns from any of their consultants. This should be investigated fully, including a review of any emails sent from the company systems.
Employment contracts should be reviewed by your legal advisers to ensure you have all the required powers needed in these situations.
Many of these operators have become well-skilled at hiding the reality of what is going on, often happy to provide fake documents and assurances.
If you have any concerns, feel free to reach out to Professional Passport in confidence and we will attempt to assist where we can.
